Translation Draft Review Process
At American Translations and Interpreting Services (ATIS), we send you a draft translation for review before issuing the final certified version. This gives you an opportunity to check names, dates, and other important details.
Why Your Review Matters
Official documents often include names, places, and reference numbers that must be consistent across your records. Your feedback helps us identify spelling preferences and details that may need clarification before certification.
Our team remains responsible for translation accuracy. You do not need to know both languages to review your personal information.
What to Check in Your Draft
- Names: Check spellings against your passport or other official identification.
- Dates and numbers: Review birth dates, document numbers, registration codes, and other numerical details.
- Places and institutions: Check the names of cities, schools, employers, and issuing authorities.
- Completeness and formatting: Flag anything that appears missing, unclear, or difficult to read.
How the Draft Review Process Works
- Send your documents. Provide clear scans or photographs for translation.
- We prepare your draft. Our team translates your documents and sends the draft to you by email.
- Review and reply. Check the details and reply with your approval or a list of requested corrections. Include the page number and relevant text for each correction.
- We review your feedback. Our team checks requested changes against the source document and resolves any questions with you.
- Approve the final version. After your approval, we finalize the translation and Certificate of Translation Accuracy. We provide the certified PDF and arrange hard copies as agreed.
Please note: A certified translation must faithfully reflect the source document. We can correct translation errors and review name spellings, but we cannot change facts or omit information to make the translation differ from the original.

Please send your approval or requested corrections promptly so we can complete your order. Drafts are for review only and should not be submitted as certified translations.
