Translation is the process of converting written text from one language to another. Interpretation involves converting spoken words in real-time. Both services are available as part of our Translation Services.

Certified translations include a signed statement (certificate of accuracy) guaranteeing accuracy. Notarized translations add a notary seal and signature, which some institutions request.

💡 Most institutions – including USCIS and universities – accept certified translations with a certificate of accuracy. Notarization is only needed if specifically required.

California Courts: For filings/exhibits, you must submit an English translation with a signed Translator’s Declaration under penalty of perjury stating the translator’s qualifications and that the translation is complete and accurate. Many courts accept a “qualified” translator; some judges/clerk’s offices prefer or require a California Certified/Registered Court Interpreter or an ATA-certified translator. We meet the statewide rule by default and can upgrade credentials on request.

USCIS & most other institutions: A certificate of accuracy signed by the translator is usually sufficient. Some agencies may ask for notarization or specific wording—we can add those if needed.

Yes. Requirements are set by each State and often by individual Courts.

Notarization is usually needed for documents used inside the U.S. (schools, agencies). Apostille is required for documents being sent abroad to countries in the Hague Apostille Convention. For example, a birth or marriage certificate for a foreign government usually requires an apostille after notarization.

Yes. We can notarize the translator’s Certificate of Accuracy upon request. Some agencies, schools, or consulates ask for this extra step. We’ll prepare the certificate, arrange notarization, and include the notarized page with your translation. A small fee applies, and please allow a little extra time (typically up to 1 business day).

Because translations are custom work, cancellations are not refundable once the project is in progress. • If you cancel before work has started, no fee is charged.
• If work is partially complete, you are responsible for the portion already translated.
• If the translation is complete, the full agreed fee is due.

This is standard practice in the U.S. translation industry to ensure fairness and compensate translators for time already invested.
